5.4. Copyright (full revision)
Copyright protects original literary, artistic and scientific works from the moment they are created.
Copyright protects original literary, artistic and scientific works from the moment they are created. It is one of various intellectual property rights, which protect creations of the mind.
To protect a work, no formalities are needed: the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works provides that copyright protection cannot be made dependent on the respect of formalities. Nevertheless, to inform the public about who owns (the copyright of) a work and how it can be reused, it is recommended that a copyright notice be added to it.
